| Every martial art has a different style and ethnic backround. | TAE KWON DO ![]() Tae kwon do is a Korean martial art. It consists of self defense techniques sych as; handgrabs, kicking, punching, and hapkido. Sparring is an olympic sport in the world, called the WTF (world taekwondo federation). KARATE ![]() Karate is a Japanese martial art. Karate is mostly an offensive martial art that consists of mostly hand techniques. It was developed from indigenous fighting methods call TE. TE literally mean "hand" in Japanese. Karate also has things related to Xtreme martial arts. KUNG FU ![]() Kung Fu is a chinese martial art that originated during the acient times in China. Kung Fu is also closely related to Wushu. Wushu is a monk-style martial art that has a lot to do with conditioning of the body. They are trained to make the body invurnerable. JIU- JITSU ![]() Jiu-Jitsu is a Brazilian martial art that consists of ground wrestling and grappling. It has a lot of headlocks, sweeps, and pins involved when you are wrestling. Many people say that Jiu-Jutsu was originated in Brazil, but it was actually started in India. Jiu-Jutsu is a very good excercise and really helps in situations that require ground fighting. CAPOEIRA ![]() Capoeira is an Afro-Brazilian art form that combines elements of martial arts, music, and dance. It was created in Brazil by slaves from Africa, especially from Angola, Mozambique and Congo sometime after the sixteenth century. It consists of high kicks, flips and dancing. MUAY THAI ![]() Muay Thai is a hard martial art from Thailand that uses kicks. It is similar to other Indochinese kick-using styles of kickboxing, namely pradal serey from Cambodia, tomoi from Malaysia, lethwei from Myanmar and Muay Lao from Laos. Descended from muay boran, Muay Thai is Thailand's national sport, mostly because it uses kicks. KRAV MAGA ![]() Krav Maga an eclectic hand-to-hand combat system developed in Israel which involves wrestling, grappling and striking techniques, mostly known for its extremely efficient and brutal counter-attacks, as it is also taught to elite special forces around the world. XTREME MARTIAL ARTS ![]() The concept of "tricking" or adding gymnastics-like tumbling moves is not new, and some traditional martial arts use the acrobatic moves of XMA (e.g. butterfly, double leg, 540) as key components of their art. XMA makes these exhibition moves the focus of the sport |
