Lying is one of the worst things you can do. Lying causes people to lose trust in you. It can sometimes hurt people, but it can be used as a tool for good. Some use lies to show truths , but in showing truths you deceive and possibly disappoint a person. In most situations lying makes the situation or punishment worse than it already is. When a child lies to his or her parents to avoid being punished they are punished more severely than if he simply accepted what that child had done. One time when I lied to my parents about taking ten dollars from my brother i was grounded instead of simply giving back the money. when lying is used to avoid the truth it not only makes the situation worse, but when you lie to that person you lose their trust. When a lie is used to protect someone or used to make fun of someone it can hurt sometimes. If someone in your family died and you were not informed because your relatives wanted to protect you, but you are sometimes hurt because of different reasons. You may realize  that you aren't as mature as you thought you were or you aren't as strong as you thought you were. Mabey  someone sated a rumor or told a lie about you that is not true. It hurts your feelings when people actually believe them and you are either made fun of for it or singled out from a group as a result of the lie. Although lying is a sin it can be used as a tool for good. Parents sometimes lie to their children to protect them from something they dont understand like death. Sometimes lies are used to get your attention or show you the truths about something you may be afraid to look at. The saying "You cant handle the truth" is very true. When you are deceived into examining a problem more closely you see truthes through the lies.  The truth in most situations is very hard to accept and this is why people are so prone to lying. The truth may be hurtful but it is the right thing and it will always be discovered no-mater how man lies cover it up. It is said "A scullery maid breaks the dishes as she cleans them up." This means that the truth is hurtful and sometimes the result of telling the truth is as bad as telling a lie.  When a child's pet dies  a parent has two choices: tell the child the truth and hurt them, or lie to them saying the pet ran away. Both hurt the child indefinitely, but the lie would cause them to question the validity of what else the parents say. Although lies are wrong and they are sins they are used, the truth will always come out.
