WHAT CAN GO HERE: *  The militia was one of the most important duties you could have.

There is a diference between the militia and the continental army the militia is a  volunteer program and the men in it can come and go as they pleased. In the continental armythey inrolled and they could not leave until they served their time. They served under General George Washington.
