WHAT CAN GO HERE: *  The militia was one of the most important duties you could have.

Text of site goes here. The militia used 2 1/2  smoothbore muskets which fire 3/4 size balls. they only fire 80-100 feet. Although these guns aren't as fast, durable and easy to load as the ones today they still struck a deadly blow to you if you got hit. most of the soldiers in the militia carried sords you see today we have a pistol as a sidearm but in the 1700 they used swords as a sidearm.
